Spring has sprung which gives us the perfect excuse to clean our homes thoroughly for the first time in months. If you’re planning to do a bit of spring cleaning soon, you need to check out these tips to help you do it properly:
Completely Declutter Every Room
Spring cleaning is the perfect excuse to have a good old fashion declutter of your home. You’ll be amazed at how much junk is simply lying around with absolutely no use at all. In fact, a lot of people still have boxes and packaging from Christmas! The reason most of us spring clean is pretty much because we realized how messy and cluttered our houses became through winter. Normally, this is because the temperature dropped, and we all got a bit lazy and wanted to stay in the warmth of our home and not go out and do chores such as taking rubbish away. Well, now’s your chance to right all those wrongs and throw away all your junk. Get your kids to go through their rooms and chuck out things they don’t need. Then, you can go through the other rooms and do the same. By the end, you’ll have no clutter in your house, and it will already look a lot cleaner.
Clean The Outside
When most people think about spring cleaning, they tend to concentrate on tidying the inside of their home. This makes sense, as most homes get really messy, particularly after a long winter where most of your family stay inside longer than usual. However, think about the outside of your home too. After all, this is the part of your home that everyone else is going to see, so it needs to look nice. The winter months can batter your house and make it look really dirty and in bad condition. But, there are some easy things you can do to clean it up. Firstly, get a power hose out and clean away any dirt. Then, get yourself a paint sprayer and give your house a new lick of paint. Now, it will be gleaming on the outside and look brand new once more.
Tidy The Garden
Keeping the focus on the outside of your home, you should also tidy your garden. Gardens are usually left untouched throughout the winter as the weather conditions make it quite difficult to do anything. But, this doesn’t stop weeds from growing and gardens from looking unkempt. So, head out and cut your lawn, banish any weeds, and just generally make your garden look good again. Focus a lot of your attention on your front garden too. Again, this is purely because it’s part of your home that most people are looking at. So, if you only have time to tidy one of your gardens this weekend, prioritize the front one! You can deal with the back one at a later date.
Follow this advice and spring cleaning will be a breeze this year. Before you know it, all the winter cobwebs will be wiped away, and your house will be gleaming once more.
