Web Development Maintenance: Why Do I Need It?

If you’re working with a professional web developer, they may have advised you that you will require ongoing website maintenance even after your new site has launched. Perhaps you don’t quite understand what that means or doubt that you’ll really benefit from this service. Well, think again.

Website maintenance is as important as the process of building the website itself. Without it, your new, shiny site will quickly lose traction. Bugs may emerge, and you may even expose your clients to significant security issues. In short, if your web development services team says you need web development maintenance, it’s best to listen to them!

What is web development maintenance?

Website maintenance involves regularly checking your site for issues and keeping content up-to-date. Both of these tasks are important. Any website, no matter how well constructed, is likely to develop functionality problems. If you let these problems pile up, customers are going to become very frustrated with your slow, broken website.

Website content, including photos, videos, and blogs, also tend to age quickly. Unless you’re updating content on a regular basis, potential clients may get the impression that your company is not particularly switched on or concerned with digital engagement. Even worse, if your assets are really outdated — for example, your blog hasn’t been updated in ten years — they may assume you’ve closed down completely.

Website maintenance is a strategy designed to circumvent these two problems.

What does web development maintenance involve?

Website maintenance can include any number of tasks that are usually carried out on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or even yearly basis. If you’ve hired a professional web development company in Melbourne, it’s a good idea to talk about your maintenance needs and what types of packages the company offers. They are likely to suggest any number of the following tasks:

Weekly

Check that all pages load without errors.

Run a website backup to secure your data.

Update CMS software and plugins.

Check that forms (eg. email sign-up) are running seamlessly.

Remove spam comments.

Check for broken links.

Upload fresh content. This can be a written blog, a new video, a testimonial from a satisfied customer — be creative! Ideally this content will also be optimised for SEO purposes.

Monthly

Test website speed. If it has slowed, investigate and fix the root cause.

Conduct a security review. Patch any holes.

Study your website analytics. If there are certain pages visitors are avoiding or spending limited

time on, it could be a sign that something is wrong from a development perspective.

Quarterly

Review your entire site for areas of improvement.

Ensure your website is displaying correctly across all device types.

Conduct an on-page and technical SEO review.

Some of these maintenance tasks you may be able to carry out yourself. Uploading new content to your blog, for example, should be a fairly straightforward job, particularly if your website has been built using a user-friendly CMS. Others are likely to require the assistance of a professional web development services team.

In addition to these regular tasks, having a maintenance team on-hand means you’ll be able to deal with any emergency situations in a quick and efficient manner. If your website load time has suddenly doubled or all of your images are coming up with error messages, the last thing you want is to have to figure out what’s gone wrong on your own. It’s times like these that having a responsive development and maintenance team really pays off.

What to look for in a maintenance team

Now we understand what maintenance involves: what types of services and qualities should you be looking for in a maintenance team?

Well, to start with, it’s best if they have a local presence. While the beauty of web development is that it can be conducted anywhere in the world, an urgent problem is not going to be efficiently fixed if you’re waiting for your developer to wake up halfway around the world. At the very least, make sure the web development company you’re working with has some development team members within your time zone.

You should also partner with a team that’s explicit about what types of maintenance services they offer and what the ongoing cost will be. If a company is vague about what happens once your website launches or unable to articulate how they will respond to errors, avoid working with them at all costs.

Finally, choose a professional, talented web development company in Melbourne from the get-go. They might come at a slightly higher cost but they’re likely to build a solid, secure website that can cope with traffic numbers and doesn’t develop unexpected problems along the way.

Seven Fundamentals When Choosing Where You Should Live

People’s careers can be drastically different from one another. For example, one person may choose to become a doctor, while another may become a teacher. People can take many different career paths, and each path has its own unique set of challenges and rewards.

No matter what career path someone chooses, it is essential to stay focused and motivated. It is also necessary to be flexible and willing to learn new things. The world of work is constantly changing, and those who can adapt will be more successful in the long run. However, these things aren’t the only things that will determine whether people can continue their chosen path.

One of the greatest things that people should consider is where they live. The location of someone’s home can have a profound impact on their career and personal life. There are many factors to consider when choosing a place to live, and

each person’s situation is unique. However, there are some general principles that everyone should keep in mind when making this decision.

The Cost of living

This is perhaps the most crucial factor to consider when choosing a place to live. The cost of living can vary significantly from one place to another, and it is vital to make sure that you can afford the lifestyle you want to live. In addition, the cost of living can fluctuate over time, so it is vital to be aware of changes in the market.

If you genuinely want to depict your cost of living accurately, you should follow the cost of living index per state in the United States. The two states that are below the average cost of living index (89) in the country are Kentucky (81) and Maryland (82). They have the lowest cost of living index in the country, making them favorable for a much cheaper living. However, the cost of living shouldn’t be the only thing you should consider when choosing a place to live.

The Job Market

The job market is another essential factor to consider when choosing a place to live. The availability of jobs can vary significantly from one place to another, and it is crucial to make sure that you will be able to find a job that suits your skills and interests. In addition, the job market can fluctuate over time, so it is vital to be aware of changes in the market.

The Commute

The commute is another essential factor to consider when choosing a place to live. The length and difficulty of the commute can vary significantly from one place to another, and it is vital to make sure that you will be able to get to and from work without incident.

The average expenditure for commuting every year is around $10,000. That’s a decent chunk of their yearly expenses. It’s not only the money that people suffer from but also from the long commute they have to experience.

There are various ways people can bypass these long commutes. For example, some families get a second home, such as a good condominium in Manila Bay near their workplace and their children’s school. This way, they don’t have to worry about the time they spend on the road, and they can save a great deal of money in the process. Of course, this isn’t an option for everyone, but it is something to consider.

The Weather

The weather and climate can vary significantly from one place to another, and it is important to make sure that you will be able to deal with the weather conditions. In addition, the weather can fluctuate over time, so it is vital to be aware of changes in the market.

Beaches

This may not seem like an obvious choice, but beaches offer an excellent environment for many people. If you enjoy the outdoors and want to live near the water, a beach community may be perfect. In addition, beach communities often have a laid-back atmosphere, which can be great for those who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of city life.

Rural Areas

Rural areas can offer a sense of peace and quiet that is hard to find in more urban areas. If you are looking for a place to raise a family or want to get away from the noise of the city, then a rural area may be the perfect place for you. However, it is vital to remember that rural areas often have fewer job opportunities and maybe less accessible to essential services.

Urban Areas

Urban areas can be significant for those who want to be near the action. If you enjoy being around people and want to experience all that a city offers, then an urban area may be the perfect place for you. In addition, urban areas often have a more diverse population, which can be great for those who want to meet new people. However, it is important to remember that urban areas can be more expensive and may have a higher crime rate.

Choosing the right place to live is an important decision that should not be taken lightly. There are many factors to consider, such as the cost of living, the job market, the commute, the weather, and the type of community you want to live in. However, by taking the time to research your options and carefully consider your needs, you can find the perfect place to call home.

Building the Perfect Swimming Pool For Your Home

The pandemic has caused a surge in renovation activity as people seek to improve their homes in anticipation of possible future outbreaks. As a result, home improvement stores have seen a significant increase in traditional and alternative home improvement product sales. Many people are choosing to renovate their homes rather than move.

While some may see this as a waste of money, there are many reasons to believe that renovating your home during a pandemic can be wise. First, by improving your home’s defenses against infection, you can help keep yourself and your family safe. Additionally, renovations can help improve your quality of life even in a pandemic by making your home more comfortable and functional.

However, renovations can do so much more than these things. They can also increase the property’s value and make it much easier to sell. Here are some extensions you should consider for your home.

Patio

If you have the space, adding a patio can create an outdoor living area used year-round. This will add value to your home, but it can also provide a place for you to relax and enjoy the outdoors without having to worry about contracting the virus.

Greenhouse

If you’re looking for a way to increase your home’s value while also getting some fresh air, consider adding a greenhouse.

This will add value to your home, but it can also provide a place for you to relax and enjoy the outdoors without having to worry about contracting the virus. Additionally, greenhouses can be used to grow fruits and vegetables, giving you access to fresh produce even in the middle of a pandemic. It also gives you a way to increase your favorite plants regardless of the season.

Garage

Consider converting it into a living space if you have an unused garage. This can be done relatively quickly and cheaply, adding valuable extra space to your home.

If you have kids who need their own space or if you work from home and need a quiet place to focus, adding an extra bedroom can be a great way to improve your home during a pandemic. It will give your family some much-needed extra space, but it can also make it easier for you to work from home without being disturbed.

These three extensions can help you improve your home and make it more valuable. However, if you want the best extension of them all, you will invest some money to get it. The best extension of them all is a swimming pool.

Swimming Pool

Swimming pools are also a great addition to any home. Here are some reasons why and how you can build one yourself.

A swimming pool is a great asset to have in any home. It provides a place to cool off in the summer, but your family members can also use it for exercise, relaxation, and entertaining guests. It’s also great to look at and can even cool your home by a couple of degrees.

There are many different swimming pools, and each has its own set of benefits.

In-ground pools are the most popular type of pool, but they can be costly and require maintenance. Above-ground pools are much cheaper and easier to maintain, but they’re not as aesthetically pleasing.

If you’re looking for a compromise between the two, consider adding a semi-inground pool. Semi-inground pools are less expensive than in-ground pools and can be installed without difficulty.

Building Your Swimming Pool

Once you’ve decided on the type of pool you want, you need to consider the construction process. In-ground pools require excavation and a lot of concrete work, which can be very costly. Anyone with basic carpentry skills can install above-ground pools, but semi-inground pools require more work.

The first step in any pool construction project is to obtain the necessary permits from your local government. Once you have the permits, you can start excavating for your in-ground pool or assembling your above-ground pool. However, you’re going to need some heavy equipment to do this. You’ll probably need to rent from a dealer in heavy equipment for this job. Better yet, hire a contractor.

If you’re building an in-ground pool, you’ll need to pour concrete for the walls and floor of the pool. You’ll need to make a wooden frame for above-ground pools and install a liner.

Once the concrete has cured, or the frame is built, you can start filling your pool with water. Be sure to add the necessary chemicals to keep the water clean and safe. You can also add smart devices to help you automate the cleaning and maintenance of your pool.

After your pool is filled with water, you can start enjoying it! Be sure to invite your friends and family over to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

5 Common Reasons Your Shower Has Low Water Pressure

Pexels (CC0 License)

Is there anything more frustrating than hopping in the shower and standing under a light trickle of water? You need to wash your hair and body as fast as can be, but there’s barely any water coming out. It makes the whole process a lot harder, and it can even mean you struggle to rinse out all the shampoo from your hair, leading to annoying dandruff!

Sadly, too many people suffer from this problem. For whatever reason, your showerhead has low water pressure. Can you fix this? Absolutely – and it’s actually not that hard at all. Sometimes, the fix is very simple and doesn’t even require the help of a plumber. Other times, it can be a bit more complicated.

To learn how to fix a shower with low pressure, you need to know what’s causing it. Here are some of the most common reasons:

A clogged showerhead

It’s highly possible that your water pressure problem is caused by nothing more than a clogged and dirty showerhead. Now, most people don’t wipe their showerhead after every use – it’s not something we even think about doing! As such, over time, the little holes in the head can become clogged and blocked, meaning the water fails to come out at the right pressure.

It’s easy to spot if this is the problem as you can see mineral deposits on the showerhead. There’s no real way of preventing this as it happens thanks to the natural minerals in the water. All you can do is remove all of this stuff right now using a little brush and some vinegar. Soak your showerhead in a vinegar solution overnight to decalcify the minerals. Then, use a toothbrush to wipe everything away and enjoy better water pressure once more!

Low water pressure in your home

Turn on the faucets in your home and see how the water comes out. Are they following a normal stream, or does the pressure also look low? If it’s the latter, you could have a general water pressure issue in your home.

The good news is that this can sometimes be fixed very easily. Go to your boiler and it should have a gauge on there that indicates the water pressure. You should also find some instructions nearby that tell you where the proper range is for good pressure. If the dial is outside of this range, you can make a few changes to boost it back up. Again, you will find instructions on how to do this either next to your boiler or in the instructor’s manual. It usually involves turning a knob on some pipes until you see the water pressure increase to its normal state.

If this doesn’t work, there’s likely an issue with the water pressure regulator. So, you’ll need a slightly different solution. More often than not, the best course of action is to install a water pressure booster – like the SCALA1 pumps. These pumps are installed in your plumbing to give your home an extra boost of water pressure. You should see this reflected on your pressure gauge, which translates to a shower that’s working at full blast once more!

A bad showerhead

Arguably the most common reason for low water pressure in your shower is the head itself. It could be perfectly clean, and the water pressure in your home could be fine, but the shower is still trickling out a slow stream of water.

This is because the showerhead is a low-flow one. Effectively, it means that it takes the water through the tube and slows the flow down before sending it out to you. Why? Well, it’s probably because the head is very old and has stopped working properly. Thankfully, you can find a much better showerhead with more pressure online. Have a look at different reviews before ordering yours.

From here, you just have to replace the old one with the new one. It’s an easier task than you think – you usually have to unscrew the old head and screw the new one in place. Just like that, you should see a dramatic difference and the water pressure has been restored.

A loose showerhead

Speaking of unscrewing and screwing a showerhead, the pressure problem can be caused by a head that’s not installed properly. Again, over time, your shower head will be used again and again. There’s every chance that repetitive use can lead to it becoming slightly loose at the bottom next to the water tube. As such, water can start leaking from it, which disrupts the pressure.

Clearly, you can see if this is your problem! Also, it’s only relevant to showerheads that are attached to a rubber tube and can be removed and moved around. If you have a static one that stays in place, it’s unlikely to suffer from this issue.

Wider plumbing issues

All of the above problems can pretty much be fixed by yourself. However, there could be some wider plumbing issues that are causing the low water pressure. One that springs to mind is a leaky pipe in your system. If there’s a leak somewhere, it can mean that the water pressure in your shower drops a bit.

Likewise, there might be problems with the valves in your shower. One could be shut or closed off, disrupting the water pressure. The easy way to know if your problem is caused by a wider plumbing issue is to go through all of the other problems first. If you check the issues above, and still see no improvements in the shower pressure, it’s likely the problem is more serious. As a result, you need to call a plumber in to find and fix the cause as soon as possible.

Hopefully, your shower pressure problems will be solved quickly. In most cases, it will be an issue with the showerhead. Whether it’s a clogged showerhead, an old one, or a loose one; all of these concerns can be fixed in an instant. Low water pressure in your household can also be a common cause, but this is also highly fixable. The worst-case scenario is a wider plumbing concern, but you can still solve the problem with the help of a plumber, bringing convenience back to your shower routine.

How to Help Your Home Interiors Feel Brighter

If your home interiors are starting to feel a little dull and boring to you, you might want to think about how you can go about changing that and making them feel more alive and appealing once more. The good news is that it’s more than possible to do that with a few simple changes.

So if you’re looking to create a brighter and more inviting aesthetic inside your home, you’re in the right place. Read on and learn about all of the big and small changes you can make to your home interiors to establish the changes that’ll benefit your home most.

Arrange the Room Around the Light Sources

If your main aim is to make the home feel brighter and more inviting, the most important thing you can do is arrange the room with those things in mind. You want to make sure that your space really makes the most of the light and that you’re not letting any of the natural light go to waste. That’s something that happens in a lot of homes because the arrangement of the furniture is not properly planned out and considered.

Keep the Furniture Light

If you want to make the interiors feel lighter, it makes sense also to keep the furniture light as well. If you have bulky, dark pieces of furniture filling the home, it’s going to make the general aesthetic of the space feel darker as well. That’s clearly not what you want, so try to make sure that the furniture you choose is light; it doesn’t necessarily have to be white but there are always light and dark options of all kinds to choose between, especially when it comes to different types of wood.

Choose a Lighter Flooring

The flooring you choose for the home will also have to be a little lighter if you want to create a generally light and bright aesthetic. This is another mistake that’s often made. Dark flooring sets the tone for the entire room. So even if the rest of the space has light furniture, that’ll be counteracted by dark flooring. So try to choose a lighter option for the floors if you can.

Keep Window Coverings to a Minimum

Window coverings can cause big problems inside your home if they’re not used in the right way. They can construct the light, even when you don’t want them to, and make the space feel a lot darker than they ought to. So try to use a lighter window covering or switch blinds or shutters that can be pulled all the way up. There are lots of good options out there that won’t limit the amount of natural light coming in.

Improve Your Windows

It’s probably a good idea to improve the windows in your home if you feel that you’re not getting enough natural light into your home. It might be the case that the windows are old or too small and they’re simply not allowing the amount of natural light into the home that you’re looking for. If you want to make a change, you can find a local Renewal by Andersen Window dealer who can help you with the whole process of getting the new windows installed.

Embrace Outdoor Living

If you want to make the interiors feel lighter, you sometimes just need to embrace the outdoors. By spending more of your time in the garden, you’ll start to connect the outdoor and indoor spaces better. By bridging these spaces better, you can create more flow and allow more light to spread between them, and that’s something that’s obviously important during the summer months especially.

Reflect the Light

One of the easiest ways to make any space feel lighter and brighter is to reflect the light around the room. That’s why mirrors are such an important tool in your arsenal when it comes to making your space feel brighter. If you’re lacking natural light or the windows are not very big, reflecting light can make all the difference and make up for that lack of light far better than you would imagine they could. Give it a try and see how it works out.

Making your interiors feel a little brighter is definitely a good idea if you want to create a more pleasant and relaxed atmosphere inside your home. The sooner you put in place these changes, the easier it’ll be for you to enjoy your home to the max, and that’s what matters most.

Make A Move Today To Change The Course Of Your Career Or Try Something New

Are you looking for your next career move? Is it time for a shift in your professional goals? If you answered yes, keep reading for ideas on how to achieve success in your next endeavor.

Purchase an Existing Business

Whether you are happy with your current career trajectory, are looking for a change, or want to add another business to your collection of financial investments, consider purchasing an existing business from Business Brokers of Arizona

When you invest in an established business, you are not starting from scratch or reinventing the proverbial wheel. You will have a unique opportunity to assess the business as a true outsider. With the advantage of a fresh pair of eyes, you can see the pain points or possibilities for change.

Other aspects of walking into an already operating business are that you can insert yourself at the head of the company and run the day-to-day operations. You have the option to exercise a hands-off approach, as well. If what you see is a functional and profitable business, you can take a step back, keep the current staff in their employ, and let them continue their work. Of course, as the new owner, you can take a seat as you see fit or get to know the inner workings as well. This will be a rare chance to try something new without starting from scratch.

Hone Your Skills by Freelancing

If you are thinking about an entirely new direction for your work life, try offering your skills on a per-per-service basis as a freelancer. You can do this with any skill set you already possess, learn new ones, or fine-tune your competencies. Freelancing is a great way to build a portfolio of work that you can later present to paying clients. In addition, you can make extra money on the side, which is always a win.

There is an overabundance of freelancing sites online. Do your due diligence and read the fine print before creating new accounts and becoming active on their respective platforms. It is wise to make new email addresses for freelancing so that you do not put your personal contact information online.

Here is a video with tips on how to get freelancing experience when you are in the beginning stages.

Update Your Resume

Even if you are not actively (or passively) looking for a new job or career path, you need to keep your resume updated. The world is very fluid in terms of job and market security. People change positions with greater frequency than in decades past. It is good practice to have a current copy on hand should you need it.

Resume format expectations change over time, as well. Recruiters look for different keywords within your content. Sometimes a bot looks over your CV to see if keywords are present. If they are not, your resume will likely be discarded. Start your resume building from a general standpoint and then scale it from there. Make several iterations of your resume based on jobs you are interested in and their respective descriptions.

Consider Further Studies

Taking a sabbatical can be an exhilarating experience to recharge and refresh. Doing so may also lead to further studies in a new field or the deepening of your current industry credentials. This can be a big undertaking, but ultimately very rewarding. Not only is the prospect of learning new and exciting material thrilling, but the fact that you can add another diploma or certificate to your list of achievements is a great plus. Furthermore, you’ll have the excitement of experiencing a change of scenery, from looking for university city apartments to changing up your daily schedule. Taking on further studies will make a serious difference in the job market, too.

Make time to determine what your next steps in life will be. Whether you buy an existing business or start a new one, keep your resume up-to-date and be ready when an opportunity arises.

9 Tips to Modernize Your Restaurant for a More Successful Future

It’s no secret that the restaurant industry is booming. In fact, it’s been one of the fastest-growing industries in America for several years now. But even with this growth, restaurants are still facing stiff competition from one another. So how can your restaurant set itself apart and ensure a successful future? By modernizing, of course! In this blog post, we will discuss nine tips to help you modernize your restaurant and create a more successful business.

Update Your Decor and Atmosphere

First impressions are everything, so make sure your restaurant’s exterior and interior are up-to-date and inviting. A fresh coat of paint, new furniture, and updated signage can go a long way in making your restaurant more appealing to potential customers.

Menu Makeover

Your menu is another important aspect of your restaurant that should be kept up to date. Regularly assess your menu items to ensure they are still popular with customers and offer something unique that sets your restaurant apart from the competition. If you find that certain items are no longer selling as well as they used to, don’t be afraid to ditch them in favor of new, more exciting dishes. Offer new and innovative dishes that will appeal to your target market. And don’t forget to update your drink menu as well!

Technology is Your Friend

In today’s day and age, technology is everything. And your restaurant should take advantage of this by incorporating it into your business. Offering online ordering and reservations, as well as mobile apps, can make your restaurant more convenient and accessible to potential customers. And using social media to market your business is a great way to reach a wider audience. By using an online ordering system, you can take the hassle out of waiting for a table. Customers can simply order their food online and have it delivered right to their table.

Go Green

More and more people are becoming conscious of the environment and its impact on it. So why not appeal to this growing market by making your restaurant more eco-friendly? There are several ways you can do this, such as using energy-efficient lighting, recycling and composting, and using sustainable or locally sourced ingredients. These small changes can make a big difference in how customers perceive your business.

Promote a Healthy Lifestyle

With the rising cost of healthcare, more and more people are looking for ways to live a healthier lifestyle. As a restaurant owner, you can promote this by offering healthy menu options. This doesn’t mean you have to get rid of all your delicious comfort food favorites. But it does mean offering some healthier alternatives that will appeal to health-conscious customers. You can also promote a healthy lifestyle by participating in community events or sponsoring local sports teams.

Get Involved in the Local Community

Another great way to set your restaurant apart is by getting involved in the local community. This can be done in many ways, such as hosting fundraisers, sponsoring local events, or partnering with other local businesses. By getting involved in your community, you will not only make your restaurant more visible, but you will also endear yourself to potential customers.

Find Your Edge

People are always looking for new and exciting things to do. So why not offer them something unique at your restaurant? This could be anything from live music and entertainment to special themed nights. By offering something different, you can attract a whole new group of customers who are looking for a fun night out.

Offer Loyalty Programs

Loyalty programs are a great way to reward your regular customers and keep them coming back for more. Offer discounts or freebies to customers who sign up for your loyalty program. And make sure to promote your program so that people are aware of it. You can do this by placing flyers in your restaurant or sending out emails to potential customers. How To Prepare Your Vehicle For Auto Transport

How To Prepare Your Vehicle For Auto Transport

Two years ago, the auto transport industry was valued at $95 million. Although it took a slight dip in 2021, experts have projected that it might be twice the value recorded earlier by the end of this year. This is not surprising as they help many people move their cars from one place to another, when driving isn’t an option. This is great news for the industry, especially for clients looking forward to using such services. The question, though, is, how do you get your vehicle ready for auto transport? These are tips worth knowing before going ahead with it.

  1. Disable the vehicle alarm

Car alarms have sensitive sensors that get triggered by the slightest movement. Because your car is due for auto transport, it is usually recommended to disable the alarm before it is conveyed. This is to prevent the blaring of alarms that may inconvenience the auto transport company. In many situations, the auto transport company makes it a requirement before moving your car. However, if they don’t, it is advisable to do so to avoid the inconveniences it could cause the truck driver.

Additionally, a car alarm that goes off incessantly can run down the battery. The last thing you want is for your vehicle to arrive only to notice a completely rundown battery. You can detach the car battery to disable the alarm. You can also choose to remove the fuse, which also effectively disables the alarm. Some clients unlock the car doors to temporarily disarm the alarm until it arrives at the final destination. For security reasons, however, this option is not always recommended.

  1. Check for leaks

Many auto transport companies are strict about leakages from clients’ cars. When they realize at the last minute, they may refuse to transport your car. If you’re lucky, your deposit may be refunded. If not, you lose your initial payment altogether. Aggressive leakages can be a hazard to the truck or container transporting your vehicle. Sometimes, more than one car is transported at a time. Therefore, the risk of a leaky car can be a danger to the other vehicles. If an aggressive leakage is detected late, the auto transport company may hit you with a hefty fine.

It is recommended to perform a thorough check of the vehicle at least three days before the final move. If you cannot inspect it yourself, it may be wise to call a mechanic to run these checks. Finally, do not fill the gas tank before the move. A full tank makes the vehicle heavier and more dangerous to convey on a truck or container. The best thing to do is leave very little fuel or what’s left in the reserve tank. When your car arrives in good condition, you can fill it up.

  1. Be prepared for any eventuality

The truth is that anything can happen during the transportation process. It may not necessarily be due to your inability to prepare the car adequately. However, the car is a machine and can develop mechanical problems at any time. Should this happen when the vehicle arrives at the final destination, you might need a towing service to move it. However, the dynamics change if the auto transport service causes the damage. For example, if your car was damaged due to their negligence, they are responsible for paying or repairing it. This, therefore, makes it crucial to assess the transporting company’s liability clause before making any initial payment.

7 Email Errors Your Company Needs To Stop Making

Pixabay. CCO Licensed.

Many of us send and receive work emails every day. In fact, the average professional spends about 28% of their time reading or writing emails.

There is often no training when it comes to email etiquette or email organisation. Most of us have to learn the ropes ourselves, which can result in us making certain errors along the way. Sometimes we may pick up on these errors by ourselves. In other cases, we may not be aware that we are making any mistakes.

This post lists a few of the common email blunders that many companies make and what you can do to correct these mistakes so that no harm is coming to your business.

Using a personal email address

If you’re communicating on behalf of a business, you should avoid using a personal email address like ‘JoeBloggs@outlook.com’. Such an email address may come across as unprofessional as may cause the recipient to question your legitimacy.

Many popular email services allow you to personalise addresses to contain your company name. An example could include ‘JoeBloggs@YourCompany.com’. This looks much more professional.

Not organising your inbox into folders

If you get hundreds of emails every day, it could be worth setting up folders to help you organise them by priority. Without folders, it can be very easy to focus on responding to the wrong types of emails (i.e. ones that may not need your immediate attention). Other emails could also get lost or forgotten.

This five folder system is a great example of how to organise your emails. This can help you to answer the most pressing emails and find information emails for easy reference.

Not securing your emails

If you’re sending or receiving potentially sensitive information in emails, it’s important that you secure these emails from getting into the wrong hands.

There are many ways to send secure email. One of the most effective is to use a VPN to make sure that your connection is always secure. This could be particularly important if you’re using public WiFi.

Not checking for spelling/grammar errors

Spelling and grammar errors can make you come across less professional. If it’s a marketing email, you could even be mistaken as a scammer for sending an email containing errors.

Always proofread your emails before you hit send in order to make sure that there are no glaring errors. For important lengthy emails (like newsletters), you may even want to use tools like Grammarly to help you reduce errors.

Forgetting to add attachments

A common mistake that many of us have made is failing to send an attachment with an email. This is another blunder that can make you look less professional when communicating with customers or suppliers.

If you’re going to be sending an email containing an attachment, consider getting into the habit of adding the attachment before you add the content of the email. Don’t leave it until the end, as you’re more likely to forget about it. On the topic of what order to compose emails in, it’s also worth getting into a habit of adding the recipient address last – this prevents you accidentally sending a half-finished email.

Not using CC/BCC correctly

It’s also important to know when to use ‘CC’ and when to use ‘BCC’. If you’re sending to multiple recipients, putting all their addresses in ‘CC’ means that each recipient will be able to see who else you have sent that email to. Putting addresses in ‘BCC’ hides these addresses from other recipients.

You should only put multiple addresses in ‘CC’ if all the recipients know each other and you’re happy to let them all know that you’ve sent the same email to all of them. If the recipients don’t know each other or you don’t want a certain recipient to know you’ve sent the email to someone else, it’s best to put the address in ‘BCC’. This stops you sharing private emails with other recipients without consent (which could get you in a lot of trouble).

Sending to the wrong the recipient

The final fatal email error that you want to avoid is sending an email to the wrong recipient. This can often happen if recipients have similar addresses, making it easy to mistake one of them for the other. In some cases, this can result in sensitive information being shared with the wrong people.

How do you avoid this? By always double-checking the recipient address before hitting send. If you’re unsure if you’ve got the right person, consider going back through your email history to see what you’ve previously emailed that person.
