What to do if Your Car Breaks Down

When your car breaks down it is always a real frustration. You can almost guarantee that it will happen when you are desperate to get somewhere fast or have places to be!

Aside from keeping your car in good condition, there isn’t much you can do to avoid a breakdown. It’s just a fact of life that technology will give up at some point and you just have to know what to do when it does.

Not sure? Read on…

Pull Over if You Can

The first thing to do is pull over to the side of the road if you can. Usually this can work if you are still rolling and you can just come to a stop or if you have a bit of warning like a funny noise or a warning light in indicate that something is wrong. Don’t hit the brakes at any point, just take your foot off the accelerator and then come to a natural halt.

Once you have pulled into a safe position, use your reflectorized triangles to show your position behind the car and, if it is dark, put the interior light on. You should also put your hazard light on. This will show approaching vehicles that you are there but you should still keep an eye out for other drivers.

Call for Help

The next thing to do is to call for help but before you do, you will need to find out where you are. Try looking for your blue dot on Google Maps or see what the nearby road signs suggest. If you are in a fairly built-up area, there might be a street name somewhere that will give you a clue!

If you have an insurance company with an attached road rescue service, this is probably the best number to call. You should also call a family member or whoever you were on your way to meet to let them know where you are.

If your car has a fairly simple problem, you should be able to drive away safely and continue with your journey. However, it is possible that the problem may not be fixed there and then, in which case you will need to call a towing company like Swan Towing to come and collect both you and your car.

Stay in a Safe Location

While you are waiting for help, you must stay in a safe location at all times. Though you might be tempted to walk away to find help, you shouldn’t do this on a whim and should only leave the car if you are sure that help is nearby. Otherwise, the best advice is to stay in your vehicle with the doors locked until help arrives.

If your car is not safe to stay in, then you should cautiously exit your vehicle and stand nearby, out of the road. Make sure that you check over your shoulder before opening your door, especially if you are on a busy main road. You must not leave your vehicle so try not to go too far.

Steps You Need to Follow When Designing your Technology Product

If you need to design a new tech product or if you have a plan in mind and you want to develop it then there are a ton of things that you need to think about. After all, you need to think about the purpose of the product and you also need to think about how you are going to market it as well. If you want to make the whole thing easier, then you can find out everything you need to know, right here.

Define your Goals

The very first thing that you should always do when you are designing your product is outline all of the details. This includes your features, the function of the technology and even the size of it as well. Remember that when you are developing a new product, a lot of thought needs to be put into pushing limits but you do need to compromise at times as well. You can’t have everything. When you are designing a new wearable tech product for example, you may need to think about the size of it and this may be the highest priority that you have but you also need to think about the battery life and if this is going to be compromised by having a smaller product.

https://www.pexels.com/photo/macbook-pro-908284/

Designing

You will also need to have an electrical engineer who can help you to design all of the products you need as well. This includes the microchips, the display sensor and more. This will all depend on the specifications that you have in your initial goals. Don’t be surprised if an engineer is able to build everything in a schematic circuit because this is usually how things are done and your engineer may even need to run a computer-based simulation to make sure that everything is working out as well. Sites like https://www.altium.com/ are great for this and you’d be surprised at how helpful they can be at every stage of the process.

Prototypes

Your engineer is more than able to specify the PCB designs that you need and they will also be able to create a few units for testing as well. When you have all of this sorted out you can then break down the electronic prototyping into two different steps. You can do this by making the PCB and then attaching the components afterwards. You need a lot of experience to do this.

https://www.pexels.com/photo/gray-laptop-computer-showing-html-codes-in-shallow-focus-photography-160107/

Evaluating

So when you have absolutely everything sorted out you can then move on to getting the rest of your design finalised. It is more than possible for you to choose your colour scheme at this point and you can also work with the marketing team to try and find a way to make your technology stand out from the rest. Of course, this is also your chance to make a change to the technology that you have at this point and it’s also possible for you to start producing on a mass basis as well if you have everything in place.

Get A Gorgeous Garden Without The Backbreaking Work

If you have ever spent an hour or two outside pulling weeds, painting the garden fence, or laying some decking, you will know that keeping your garden in tip-top condition can be an exhausting activity! In fact, with all that bending over and heavy lifting work it can feel like it’s backbreaking. However, there is a way to have a gorgeous garden while minimizing the work you have to do to keep it that way. Keep reading to find out more.

Fake grass

Now, some folks are dead set against using fake grass in their garden because they think of it as cheap looking and rough. However, there has been some real improvement in this area recently, and you can now get a product that is soft and realistic looking, as well as easy to maintain.

After all, there is no mowing or weeding that needs to be done if you have fake grass, and if it gets dirty for any reason a quick hose and brush down is all it takes to look perfect again. Then there is the advantage that no matter how hot the weather, your lawn will always be that lush shade of green, making it something that low maintenance gardeners should consider.

Coat your deck

Next, those with decks in their garden will know that there is nothing nicer than to sit out on them as the sun goes down, and enjoy a drink. However, those folks will also know that maintaining a deck is a lot of work.

The main reason for this is the decking is made from wood, and this means it is vulnerable to weathering, rotting, and becoming unsightly and unsafe because of its position outdoors.

Luckily, there are things like asphalt coating that can be applied on top of a deck to seal and protect from the elements. Such coatings also come in a range of colors can be used to cover over unsightly weathering, making them a valuable weapon in the fight for an attractive yet still low maintenance garden.

Use seed mixes

The glorious burst of color that flowers produce in your garden can be a real joy. However, the back-breaking work of kneeling down to dig out the weeds and plant them in can be something that puts many gardens off this activity.

Happily, there is something that can make planting way easier, and its to use a seed shaker that contains a mix of flowers. These come in all sort of varies and even in particular colours way that you can match to your garden design. All you need to do is plant them, and then sprinkle some compost and water over the area! Easy!

Install irrigation

If lugging heavy watering cans or dragging weighty hoses around your garden of an evening isn’t your idea of a good time, then why not consider getting a professional to install some hidden irrigation?

Such a device can make gardening so much more straightforward because not only do you escape have to do the grunt work yourself, but you can also program it to be done automatically even if you are not home. This is an advantage that will certainly help you to create the most gorgeous of gardens with the minimum of work.

Drivers Refresh Your Lifesaving Road Safety Knowledge Here

Driving is such a commonplace activity that we barely even think about it when we get behind the wheel. However, as most modern vehicles are approaching two tons in weight and can travel at speeds of up to 80 mph plus, it does come with a significant risk factor. That is why it is important, that you the driver, has the best road safety knowledge possible. With that in mind check out the post below for a quick refresher.

Check your car.

The first thing you must do to be as safe as possible on the road is to check your car before you drive it. After all, your vehicle is a machine, and like any other machine, it can suffer from technical failure.

Regular checks at home should be carried out on tire pressure, oil, and water, as well as on the battery. Find out how to check these in the video below.  Also, getting your vehicle serviced and keeping up with maintenance can prevent an accident before it even occurs.

Keep an eye on other drivers.

The thing with driving is that it’s not just the driver that affects how safe their vehicle is. In fact, it’s a combination of many factors including the weather, road conditions, and all importantly, other drivers as well.

To that end, the safest drivers are ones that have a good awareness of others on the road as well as their behavior. Yes, it true that you cannot control these other vehicle users, but you can be aware of what they are doing as soon as possible, and this provides you with the opportunity to drive defensively and potentially avoid a dangerous crash.

Although, if you do find yourself involved in a crash getting help from an auto accident attorney as soon as you can after the initial emergency has been resolved is always the best plan of action. The reason for this is that they will be able to discern whether you have a case against the others involved in the incident. Something that can mean you are awarded compensation that can be used to pay for vehicle repairs and any medical cost that you incur due to the accident.

Always signal.

Wow! Have you noticed that so many people seem to forget to signal when they are driving? It’s not easy like it’s hard to do either, all it requires is to depress the right lever before you make a turn!

The sad thing is that neglecting to do such a simple thing can cause major havoc and danger on the road. This is because if cars behind you cannot see where you are going they can easily be surprised if you suddenly turn off and this can cause a track.

With that in mind, always remember to signal with plenty of time before you make a turning. In the same vein, if someone who you are driving behind is not indicating, hang back and give them as much room as possible. Otherwise, you could end up driving into the back of them and be part of a crash that could so easily have been avoided.

Practical Ways to Overcome a Fear of Driving

A fear of driving is more common than you think. Many people can experience terrible situations that might cause them to fear driving (such as an accident) or they might have bad experiences from when they were a passenger in a vehicle. A phobia of driving can be overcome, but it does require a lot of mental power and utilizing confidence-boosting techniques.

Use short and positive affirmations

Affirmations are like little boosts of motivation to help you calm your nerves. Things such as “Everyone drives, it’s a normal thing.” or “I don’t have to drive fast, I’m not in the fast lane.” can give you a slight boost to help you focus on driving and less on your fears. The affirmations you come up with will depend on your personal situation and your fears, so this can take some time to develop.

Realize that help is always available

There’s always help available to you no matter what you need. Whether it’s an injury lawyer such as https://www.greenberglawoffices.com/milwaukee-car-accident-lawyer/ to help you overcome the aftermath of an accident or a defensive driving instructor to teach you more ways to stay safe on the road, there is always someone available to help you overcome your fear of driving. You just need to look for the right help instead of waiting for them to come to you.

Create a calm driving experience

Driving doesn’t need to be a hectic mess. Driving can be calm, relaxing and a lot of fun, but the key is to create a relaxed and calm driving experience that you can indulge in. This means putting some relaxing music on as you drive, setting the seat correctly so that you’re comfortable and asking your passengers to be a little quieter. Keep your surroundings clear too; don’t leave trash lying around and give your car a wash so that it smells nice and looks new.

Get plenty of driving practice

Practice absolutely makes perfect and your driving is no different. Make sure you practice driving on a regular basis so that you get accustomed to all of the hand motions, the shifting and the foot movements. If you’re not driving on a regular basis then you’ll never build the confidence needed to be comfortable on the road, so try and make it a habit to drive as often as possible.

Analyze your threats

Another important thing to keep in mind is that you always have to be on the lookout for threats. This is something that you learn through defensive driving. You always have to pay attention to your surroundings and look for potential dangers. With enough experience, you can identify these dangers before they even become a threat, but this takes a lot of practice.

Hopefully, these five points have given you some insight into how you can overcome your fear of driving. It’s certainly not easy to be confident with driving, but it does require action that only you can take.

Going Long Distance? Here’s The Car Hacks You Need

Driving long distance is something very few people enjoy doing. If you’re stuck behind a wheel, in congested traffic and up and down back roads for hours on end, you’re going to get tired and bored very easily. But if you’re sick of experiences like this, you don’t have to put up with them for much longer. It’s time to drive differently.

You might be going on a road trip for fun, you might be travelling for a job, or you’re simply driving to see an old relative of yours. Whatever reason you’re on the road for hours at a time for, there’s some car hacks you can use to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible during the journey. Read on for a couple of the best.

Use Phone Apps

Phone apps are a secret weapon of the driving world, even as insane as that sounds. Seeing as everyone’s got a phone in their pocket these days, but of course you’re not going to pull it out when you’re cruising down a highway because you needed to post something! But if you download some apps before you go, and if you’ve got a phone holder attached to your radio or dashboard, you can easily use these apps whilst behind the wheel.

Something like GasBuddy would be great here, as you never know when you’re going to run out of fuel away from civilisation. Even a rescue with a gas canister could be hours and hours away, and you’ve got that meeting to get to! Browse the stores before you head off to see what would be of use to you.

Get Serviced Before You Go

If your car isn’t used to having to operate for such a long time, you’re going to need to give it a once over yourself at least! There’s quite a few parts of your car that need changing and replacing every 5000 miles or so, and there’s a chance you haven’t taken the time to get the engine oil replaced recently.

So if you’re being as responsible as possible, it’d be a good idea to book into a mechanic for the full works. Head into your local AUTO REPAIR to make sure your car is completely up to the task of those hundreds (and possibly even a thousand or so!) miles you need to go. You won’t have to be worried about the wheel nuts coming loose this way, and you’re sure to have an up to date toolkit in the trunk.

Pack Snacks

If you don’t have plenty of snacks to go along with you, you’re immediately off to a bad start. People can get hungry every hour or so, and having something to nibble on so you’re brain and body are working at peak performance is essential here. Even get yourself a car mini fridge if you’re sick of warming drinks in the holders and melted chocolate all over the seat!

If you’re a long distance driver, remember these tips next time.

The Ultimate Guide To Buying Property Overseas

https://unsplash.com/photos/61HdqMxX2lc

When it comes to buying property, no matter where it is you know that the job you have in front of you is going to be a big one. Because property is always the largest purchase that you’ll ever make, so it’s not a decision that you want to take lightly. When you purchase your first property, you’ll always spend a lot of time thinking about where you want to buy, what you want to buy, and how much you’re going to spend. It’s safe to say that there’s a lot that goes into the entire process. But it can be a lot of fun at the same time. Buying your first place is always exciting – nothing ever really tops it. Well, there could be one thing…

Despite being a completely different ball game, buying a property overseas can also be incredibly exciting. Whether you want to bag yourself a vacation home or you just want to invest in an up and coming area, choosing to buy overseas can be a smart idea. But, just like buying in your local area, there’s a lot of thought that needs to go into this. At the same time, you may find that you need to make many more considerations and be a little bit more cautious before you make a decision. However, this isn’t something that you overly need to worry about. We’re going to walk you through all of the considerations you’ll want to make when buying property overseas.

  1. Do Your Research

The very first thing you need to do is some research. And this is crucial. If you want to ensure that you’re getting the right place, you need to find the right area first. Of course, it’s often a good idea to select a few different places rather than jumping right in and picking out one place. That way, you can compare them, weigh up the pros and cons, and then make your final choice.

  1. Consider Local Customs

At the same time, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re looking at any local laws and customers that apply. Luckily you can find a lot of information online like https://abta.com/tips-and-latest/travel-tips/local-laws-and-customs to help you to do this. It’s important that you understand the culture when you are moving overseas, so you don’t make any decisions out of confusion or get anything wrong.

  1. Think About What You Want From The Location

Next, when you’re looking into the different areas, particularly when you visit, you’ll want to ensure that you can pick out the right place based on the amenities. Key considerations like https://www.futurestay.com/read/holiday-rentals/management/location/ are likely to influence your decision, but it is important that the area you choose offers everything that you need.

  1. Get To Know Different Property Styles

Another thing to keep in mind is the style of property that you want to buy. While it’s often handy to read up on the different styles like https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/rooms-and-spaces/exterior/26-popular-architectural-home-styles-pictures, the best way to do this is to actually get out there and explore. Because different cultures have different styles of home. And you may find that you’ll see more of a style when you see it in person.

  1. Speak To An Expert

It’s also a good idea for you to find yourself a property expert in the country too. It is possible for you to do this alone, but it’s always good to know the ins and outs of the local area among other things. When you work with an expert, they can often use their experience to ensure that you are getting the right place, and the best deal for it too.

  1. Know What To Expect

You should also work out what the process is when it comes to buying. Different countries may have different processes like https://www.rumah.com/panduan-dan-referensi/mengurus-sertifikat-tanah/contoh-surat-perjanjian-jual-beli-rumah when it comes to signing the agreement. So it’s often a good idea to get a sense of what to expect, so that you know what you’re doing everything right. Of course, your mortgage is a big part of this. A mortgage firm that specializes in mortgages and real estate world wide is worth checking out so be sure to visit website for more details.

  1. Work Out Your Budget

Of course, a bit part of this is working out what you can afford too. Because just like buying property here, you will want to make sure that you can stay on budget. When it comes to costs, you may find that this dictates where you buy as well as what. So make sure that you work out what you can afford and what you can expect to get for your money so that you don’t get disappointed.

  1. Consider A Change Of Lifestyle

Maybe you’re going to want to change your lifestyle a little when you buy overseas too. For some people, moving their full time and getting a new job like https://lifespaceblog.com/2018/04/24/travel-focused-jobs-that-will-enrich-your-lifestyle/ is the dream. So think about the lifestyle changes that could work here for you too.

  1. Think About Rental Options

At the same time, if you aren’t planning on being in the property most of the time, you might want to think about renting it out. Choosing the get tenants or vacationers into your property can often mean that you get some money back while the place is not in use, and that it’s kept secure as it’s never left empty for long periods of time.

  1. Get Everything Up And Running

Finally, you’re then going to want to ensure that you have everything up and running. When you are running a vacation home like https://travel.hostfully.com/9-essential-tips-for-running-your-vacation-rental-like-a-business-8276b42b0fc2 you’ll want to do this as soon as possible. So make sure you connect with local suppliers for energy and even cleaners or maintenance people to keep your overseas property in a good condition.

Little Issues That Make Your Car A Lot More Dangerous

The drive plays the starring role in safety, but the vehicle itself is almost as important. If you’ve had a long life of driving, then it’s possible that what once worried you in a car might no longer inspire the same kind of anxiety. Or if you’re a new driver, you might not be aware of how seemingly small symptoms can be a cause for great concern. Here, we’re going to look at four oft-ignored problems that can mean real danger to you and others in the car.

Pic

The wrong noise

Cars make all kinds of noises. Different models make different noises, too. However, it’s when your car is making a noise that you don’t recognize that you should be concerned. A rattling noise could mean that your driveshaft is coming loose, and you could lose control. Hissing noises could mean that engine fluids are leaking and liable to cause a fire. There are online car noise soundboards that can help you cross-reference any new sounds coming from the car. You can more quickly identify that noise and what’s causing it, helping you be more aware of how urgently repairs are needed.

Corrosion

Rust and corrosion are far from uncommon problems in cars, but many drivers don’t understand just how dangerous it can be. If you have had a scratch and a little rust appears soon after, you may think it’s only superficial damage. However, corrosion can spread under the surface. The more it does, the more the structural integrity of your car is compromised. This means that in the event of an accident, damage to your car is likely to be much more severe to the point that it exposes you to more physical risk.

Windshield damage

There are different degrees of windshield damage. If it’s only a scratch on the outer layer and it hasn’t penetrated too deeply, it’s not as serious. However, a small scratch can easily become a big crack that penetrates through the windshield entirely thanks to a bump or a jolt. Figure out whether you need to repair or replace windshield glass as soon as you identify a crack. The more the damage has time to grow, the bigger the chance of a complete collapse. Windshields provide structural integrity, supporting the top of the car, making them invaluable during a rollout or collision.

Pulling

There are a lot of reasons a car can pull or list to the side, with tire pressure being the most common. However, it can also be evidence of drive shaft issues, which can cause larger problems with steering down the line. By not getting it checked out, you’re making it all the more likely that you are likely to lose control of your vehicle at a time when your reactions need to be at their sharpest. Learn how to check and change tire pressure, and when you need to take it to the mechanic instead.

If you ever suffer a collision or an accident, you should have your car checked out, no matter how minor the damage seems to be. Otherwise, keep an eye and ear out for any of the problems mentioned above.

How to Successfully Expand your Business Internationally

Your business may have started as a small, local business, but there’s nothing that says it needs to remain that way forever. In this globalised world, it’s never been easier to look beyond the shore, and make your products and services available to foreign markets. But as with every other business decision, this is something that needs to be handled with attention and care. Below, we take a look at some of the essential steps you’ll need to take. All going well, you’ll have a successful international business!

Source: Pexels.com

Conduct Market Research

You will have conducted market research before you began the process of creating your company, but when you’re looking overseas? Then it becomes even more important. You won’t just be looking to see what kinds of people you should be marketing your products and services to; you need to first establish whether there is any demand whatsoever. What works in the United States might be considered too outlandish in, say, England or other parts of Europe. If, after your research, you find that there’s a market for what you offer, then you’ll be able to proceed.

Connect with Local Businesses

You’re unlikely to pitch up in a foreign country and make it successful all on your own. You’re going to need to work with a local business, which will be able to give you access to insider knowledge, marketing tips, distribution help, and so on. To do this, you’re best travelling to your potential overseas market, and connecting with other businesses in person. If it’s not an English-speaking country, make sure you’re working with interpreter services; you don’t want a key part of your business proposal to be lost in translation! Of course, this relationship should be mutually beneficial, so make sure you’re ready to offer terms that are attractive to the other business, too.

Recognise Cultural Differences

Every country on earth is different to your own, even though they may, on paper, seem pretty similar. What might work in America might seem unusual in Canada, Australia, or Britain, for example. As such, you’ll be well served by investigating the key cultural differences between your home country and the one in which you intend to do business. The last thing you want is to accidentally offend the local population, or show that you’re not sensitive to how they live their life.

Be aware of Legal Matters

It is comparatively straightforward to grow into new markets, but that doesn’t mean you’re just about to do what you want. There are legal parameters within which you have to work. Before trading, make sure you’re fully aware of all the legal requirements you need to meet, as some countries have more paperwork that needs to be completed than others.

Start Small

You should attempt to start small when it comes to taking your business international. It’ll be more work than you realize; and while growth can be exciting, it’s possible to grow too much. Start small, find your feet, and then look at expanding further.

3 Hidden Things That Could Be Harming Your Health

Doctor Team Medicine

Image via Max Pixel

Did you know that there are loads of hidden things in your life that could well be harming your health? It sounds a bit sinister, and quite scary too, but it’s true. We focus a lot of attention on being healthy by doing certain things and shying away from bad habits. But, there are many things that we aren’t aware of that are really bad for our health. So, I made a list of some of these, so you can now be aware of them, and hopefully, find ways of preventing them from harming you any further.

Bathroom Mold

Have you ever noticed bits of black in the grouting between your bathroom tiles? You’ve tried cleaning it as much as you can, but it isn’t going anywhere. So, you just assume that it’s a stubborn bit of muck and you’ll just have to live with it. However, this black stuff is actually mold, and it can harm your health. Mold can trigger allergies, and be very harmful to people with breathing problems like asthma. If you constantly feel like your nose is blocked and it’s hard to breathe, then this could be due to bathroom mold – or mold anywhere in your house! Get an expert mold removal company in to get rid of it and keep your house healthier. There are companies that do this everywhere, so if you’re in Massachusetts, be sure to get in contact with experts in testing and mold removal in Boston, MA as soon as possible to ensure that any mold is kept at bay.

Your Mattress

Yes, your mattress could be damaging your health in more ways that you really know. Firstly, a bad mattress with poor support can damage your physical health by causing problems in your back muscles that may well linger forever. But, the materials your mattress is made out of can also have damaging effects on your health. I’ve been reading a lot of Zinus mattress reviews lately and found out that they use things like plant oils to create memory foam. This isn’t the shocking thing, what’s shocking is that it isn’t the norm. Most memory foam mattresses are made out of crude oils and packed full of chemicals that can emit toxins. So, you could be lying on something that’s basically releasing bad toxins into the air for you to breathe in – not good for your health at all!

Your Computer

How on earth does a computer harm your health? Well, it can do many things to you that are not very good at all. For one, staring at a screen for too long will damage your eyesight and could cause repetitive headaches. However, the main problem is that using a computer puts you in a very bad position. You’re hunched over typing for hours, and it messes up your posture. Having bad posture is so harmful to your overall health. It can impact your breathing, alter your mental state, and cause lots of physical pain. As a result, if you work at a computer all day long, make sure you take regular breaks to avoid all these postural problems.

So, there you go; three hidden things you probably weren’t aware of, but they’ve been damaging your health this whole time. If you’ve fallen victim to any of these things, then I hope my article has helped shine a light on the issues for you to take care of them!
