DIY With the Kids: Home Improvement Made Fun

If you are like most parents, you are a busy person. Doing household chores, cooking dinner, helping the kids with school – your schedule is packed with important tasks that must be accomplished within the day. With everything that’s going on, it’s nearly impossible to accomplish some home maintenance tasks.

But here’s an idea, Mom and Dad: what if you can include the children in some home improvement projects? It hits two goals with one stone: it’s a great bonding activity that enables you to finish some items around your home.

Whether it’s teaching the kids how to garden or taking them with you as you shop for engineered hardwood floors from a reputable supplier, including the children in your tasks takes some load off your shoulders while teaching your kids a few things about home improvement.

Fortunately, there are many kid-friendly home improvement projects you can undertake. Assess their skill level to determine the tasks they can handle.

Ground Rules for Doing Home Improvement with Kids

Safety is still a priority to keep your children safe from accidents or injuries. Their skill level determines the tasks they can do. So before you assign your kids tasks, consider their skills.

Also, patience makes the entire experience fun for everyone. Since you are working with kids, don’t expect them to understand instructions as easily as you do. For some kids, it takes a little longer to complete a task so be patient with them.

What are Home Improvement Projects You Can Do with the Kids?

Fireplace Decoration

If your fireplace is the center point of a room, regular upkeep prevents it from looking worn out. Left without any maintenance, your fireplace can become an eyesore instead of a statement piece of your room.

Bring your fireplace back to life by cleaning it and adding some decorations. You can buy stylish pieces that encompass your personality and add it to your mantle. If you want to compliment the colors of your room, do so!

Involve the children by having them make homemade crafts or draw pictures that you can hang up around the mantle. Add an elegant touch by adding colorful plants.

Room Makeover

Transform a dust-collecting spare room or unused guestroom into one of the best places in your home. The children can help clean a room and remove clutter. To help the kids safely clean a room, let them use non-toxic disinfectants and cleaners so you don’t have to worry about them being harmed by chemicals.

Once the room is clean, furnish the space with statement pieces in your home or take the kids out shopping for new ones. You can turn the room into anything you and the children want:

  • Spare office
  • Extra bedroom for guests
  • Activity center for the children
  • Family room
  • Spare office
  • Family room
  • Game room
  • Reading room
  • Arts and crafts space

Bathroom Remodeling

Before you remodel your bathroom with the kids, check for signs of water damage. Small issues like these can become serious ones in the future if not addressed by the experts.

Once your bathroom is good, start remodeling! Have the children use eco-friendly cleaning products to scrub the grease and grime away. If some fixtures need upgrading, take the older kids with you to find new ones. They can also help you pick out new bathroom flooring, appliances and paint colors.

Backyard Sanctuary

Who says your backyard has to be “just another backyard in the neighborhood?” Instead of forgetting your yard, transform it into your vacation space. Apart from sprucing up your yard, you’ll also save more money by having a personal haven near your home.

A popular family project is building your garden – one filled with organic foods and beautiful plants. The kids will learn important skills, as well as expand their intellect and creativity. Together, you can plant your family’s favorite vegetables: cucumbers, zucchini and tomatoes are relatively easy to grow. As your skills improve, you can plant lettuces, melons and other vegetables that require more attention.

Make an At-Home Theater Room

Due to COVID-19, many cinemas are still shut down to prevent the spread of the virus. Fortunately, you can make your own cinema experience at home. Transform any spare room or living room into a theater for the family.

Take the kids out and have them pick the items they want for their mini cinema. This can include sleeping bags, candy stations, gumball machines and bean bag chairs. Make the space comfortable, so they can enjoy their favorite Netflix shows or Disney Christmas movies.

Doing home improvement tasks with your children is experiential learning at its finest. Figuring out how to do projects yourself (and with the kids) takes physical science, mathematics and reading, so you can turn each home maintenance task into a lesson minus the lecture!

At the end of the day, you didn’t just have a good time with the kids; you helped them develop the life skills they needed to become more independent.

What Can Ruin Your Summer Fun?

It’s possible to have a fun time at any time of the year, but it does seem like summer is the season that presents the most opportunities to have a good time. With the days long and bright, and people generally enthusiastic about having fun, the period between June and September usually stands out as a highlight of the year. However, while there’s plenty of potential for summer to be fun, it’s far from guaranteed. There are plenty of things that can derail your fun. In this blog, we’re going to run through a list of the many things that can take the edge off your summer. Some are trivial, and some are serious, but in any case, you’ll want to avoid them all.

Pexels – CC0 Licence

Sunburn

Everyone wants to get a tan, sure. However, it’s important that you’re trying to bronze yourself safely. Often, people are too enthusiastic when it comes to the sunshine and fail to take the proper precautions. If you’re not staying safe, then you could end up with sunburn — and that can cause both short- and long-term problems. On a short-term basis, it’ll impact your appearance and make sleeping a lot more uncomfortable. And also, it’ll require that you stay out of the sun. On a long-term basis, it can cause wrinkles and even skin cancer.

Overly Hot

The weather is what makes the summer months so fun. However, if things are too hot, then it’ll come as no surprise if you’re not enjoying the season as much as you could do. While there’s usually a week or two where it’s “too hot,” if it stays that way for longer, then it’ll be a miserable time. There are various things you can do to limit the negative impacts of the heat. For example, you can engineer your home so it can remain a cool and relaxing place to be, no matter how hot things get outside. Beyond that, it’s all about hoping that the temperatures dip a little!

Failing to Cement Plans

People tend to get pretty excited for the summer months when spring rolls around. After a long and cold winter, the warmer weather reminds people of all the possibilities of life. And so, people tend to make a lot of plans. The problem is that they only make half plans. They don’t progress beyond the idea stage. And that’s problematic, because, of course, you can only have fun if you put the work into organizing for real! The summer can come and go pretty quickly, so it’s a good idea to get your plans locked in. You’ll only regret it if you don’t!

Bug Issues

Humans aren’t the only creatures that like the summer months. It’s a favorite for bugs, too. If you’re going to visit the outdoors — which we do recommend — then you’ll have to be prepared to share the space with some bugs. Mostly, they’ll be harmless, but they can be annoying and also itchy, in the case of mosquitos. There are some pretty good bug repellent sprays available, so you can consider stocking up before a camping trip. You’ll find that the less humid it is, the fewer the number of bugs, too.

Trouble With the Law

Summer should be fun, but it should also be safe. Sometimes, people can become a little too excited and end up doing things that don’t just pose a danger to themselves but also other people. For example, drink driving. While it can be nice to enjoy a beer or glass of wine during the summer, you should never combine that activity with driving. If you don’t, then you may need the services of a DUI Defense Attorney. Your summer will most definitely be one to forget if you get in trouble with the law! So when you’re planning to consume alcohol, make sure you have a plan to get there and home that doesn’t involve driving.

Unhealthy Living

There’s a lot of value in letting go and having fun during the summer months. However, it’s a good idea not to take this idea too far. You’ll likely have worked hard to get into good shape for the summer months, so you may as well keep things going. Otherwise, you’ll only have to get started all over again when you want to get fit in the future. So look at building some exercise into your schedule. If you’ve been avoiding it because of the heat, then look at going first thing in the morning. You can also keep your health in check by watching what you eat. There are plenty of delicious and healthy salads to enjoy!

Not Investing In Your Yard

You won’t want to always go exploring when the sun is shining. If you’ve invested in your yard and made it a fun hangout spot, then you’ll have the option to enjoy the summer warmth right on your own property. All you really need is some outdoor furniture and a BBQ, and you can live well.

Travel Delays

Summer is the best time to take a trip elsewhere. Alas, when you’re leaving the safety of the comfort of your own surroundings, then you have to be prepared for things to go wrong. Travel delays can put a dampener on your trip. But of course, there’s very little you can do about them, except choose a mode of transportation that will make them less likely (such as driving a car or motorcycle).

A Lack of Ambition

Finally, let’s just say this: one thing that can lead to a pretty poor summer is a lack of ambition. As we said at the beginning of the article, there is just so much potential when it comes to the warmer months of the year. But if you don’t see the possibilities, then you won’t make the most of it! You’ll likely have to spend many a month curled up inside during the winter months. When the sun arrives, get outdoors and make things happen. You’ll be happy you did once the dark nights return!

Work from Home Office

Recent global events necessitated this transformation. Sometimes we just don’t have office space in the home. Transform your shed into a quiet space where you can escape to do your work.

A She Shed

The Art Studio

Turn your shed into a quiet place to paint or complete your glass blowing project. This is a great place to keep your creativity flowing.

The Man Cave

An area outside for the boys with their expensive toys. Perfect to set up a dedicated space for all the sport memorabilia.

Sheds don’t always need to store items to keep them away from the elements. If you are ready to free up outdoor storage space from dirty work, consider some of the uses of sheds that will bring more fun to your family.

Kids Playground

Give your children a safe place to store their toys and play. Use your shed outdoors for boosting their imagination.

Boys Hideout

Create a zombie hideout or spooky space for ghouls and goblins on Halloween Eve.

The shed can be an extension of your home if you know how to use it efficiently. Your imagination is the only limit to how you use storage solutions. Why not use it to complete some extra to-do-list items?

Outdoor Gym

Forgo expensive gym memberships and use free weights or even treadmills in the backyard to create your playground.

Bike Repair Shop

Don’t want to get your motorcycle repaired in the heat? Put your studio in the shade and create your bike shop.

If you come up with the right game plan, you can add electricity to your shed and any convenience you want. Downsizing to save money is becoming more and more popular. Whether for you or mankind’s best friend, here are some creative ways to embrace shed life.

Tiny Living

The tiny house movement is very popular now because more and more people want to downsize and challenge themselves to live a humble life. It is not for everyone, but it is a new way for people to get out of debt.

Animal Shelter

Why not make your outdoor shed an ideal place for your furry friends? Some people add comfortable sofas, fans, or even air conditioners as a separate resting area for their pets.

If you want to store more things in a shed than ordinary outdoor equipment, you’ll have a second place to call home.

8 tips for saving money on your next home renovation

Looking to cut costs when renovating your home? Home renovations are arguably the most costly home projects you will ever undertake, and so many homeowners end up going over their proposed budget. Here are eight tips to ensure you save money and don’t overspend during the renovation process, so keep on reading to familiarise yourself with them.

  1. Establish needs over wants

At least initially. If you’ve got a damaged roof, there’s no point wasting your budget on some fabulous new worktops while your roof is left to deteriorate further. This will only result in you needing to pay more in the long run so make sure you prioritize mandatory renovations first. If you’ve got money left over once the issue is fixed then you can get those new worktops.

  1. Way out the pros and cons

Before starting anything, consider whether this renovation is going to up the value of your home. This is particularly important if you ever plan on selling or renting out your property in future.

Consult your real estate agents to gather insight into what potential buyers are looking for in your area, and act accordingly based on that information. You could also speak with an architect to find out if the spatial layout of the property can be upgraded without you having to increase the square footage. If you move internal walls and doors around you could be able to achieve a better flow.

  1. Plan your renovation

Renovations never run smoothly if you just go with the flow. Effective planning is important for working out how much the renovation will cost you and for staying within a set budget. Ask yourself questions such as:

  • What is most of my budget going to?
  • Will my budget cover all the renovations I want?
  • Can I afford to go over my budget a little?
  • Is the renovation worth it?
  1. Invest in a professional, affordable company

No, that is not an oxymoron. It is possible to find both a professional and affordable renovation company. You need to source out a reputable business that can get the job done for you, but you must look for key things. For instance, if you plan on getting a window replacement renovation opt for a company that specialises in that field and that has experience, good customer service, and affordable rates. American Vision Windows is a good example of a company like this.

  1. Get a minimum of three quotes

You don’t want to plan your renovations to what google said you will pay because you may be shocked when you find out that the cost is actually a whole lot more. Try and get a minimum of three separate quotes in order to compare prices. Remember to study the quote so you understand what exactly it entails.

There are opportunities to save money with quotes. For instance, some companies provide discounts if they are doing multiple renovations or are completing projects in stages.

Don’t opt for extremely low prices. You’ll be disappointed in the end result and will need to hire a professional company to fix the damage that the amateurs did.

  1. DIY

Obviously, we don’t suggest you try a DIY roof renovation (that’s silly) but anyone can do simple things like putting up wallpaper or adding a lick of paint to a room. You’ll save a lot of money by doing some renovations yourself – and it is super fun too! Read more on DIY home renovations.

  1. Stick to your budget

Once you’ve planned your budget – stick to it. We know it can be tempting to buy one of two affordable things here and there, but this becomes a habit and it certainly adds up. Therefore, it’s best to avoid overspending at all. Create a chart or list so you can keep track of where your money is going and what funds remain in your budget.

  1. Utilize second-hand goods

Second-hand doesn’t necessarily mean low-quality. There are plenty of unused building materials on eBay that are just as good as new. You can also get your hands on an entire showroom kitchen at a fraction of the retail price because former showroom kitchens are often put up for sale when they are no longer needed in the store.

What to do after renovating
When you’ve saved a bunch of money on your home renovations by implementing these helpful tips, what do you do with it? Well, we suggest you read ideas on what to do with your extra savings.

Proven Steps That Remove Bugs from Your Yard

The backyard is more than simply a garden. Bugs come in various sizes and shapes. The unfortunate part is that they might bite you as well as damage vegetation. Red spider mites, for example, are prevalent in backyards. They drain sap from plants, producing yellow mottling. Bagworms, for example, feed on trees and evergreens. They’re moth larvae. If you adore flowers, you will discover bugs devouring their petals. You will also see fruit deterioration. Codling moths, which like to burrow in apples, may be to blame. While some bugs are innocuous, the majority devour your flowers, fruits, and veggies. So how can we get rid of them or at least decrease their numbers?

Get Rid of Standing Water

It is essential not to allow water to collect in any containers you might have lying about in your garden. Drain them as often as you are able. This is because standing water is one of your most formidable adversaries in decreasing the number of pests in your garden. This is a popular gathering spot for mosquitoes, where they may breed and lay their eggs.

Standing water can also be a contributing factor to the presence of the bloodsuckers in your home. After you’ve drained them, continue to apply insecticides or treatments to the area to control the infestation. It would help if you kept in mind that mosquitoes are not only bothersome insects that may bite you, but they are also carriers of diseases such as Dengue fever. Keep standing water away from areas where they may deposit their eggs as a result. In

Keep the Yard Clean

It’s always a good idea to include places that attract flies and ants in your plan for controlling pests. Whether they’re kept empty, kept clean, or covered, that’s why it’s so essential. Rubbish, trash cans, and compost pits are common in these locations, and so are abandoned vehicles, dilapidated buildings, and rotten wood. Additional cleaning should include the following:

  • Lumps of various kinds of wood
  • Unkempt grills
  • Seed and kibble for the birds
  • Lanterns and spotlights
  • Door sweeps are missing
  • Patio or patio lights
  • Scratched or cracked screens

Let the Bats Handle It

Bats are fierce bug eaters. They may be your natural bug eliminator. Every night, they eat 6,000 to 8,000 insects. They’re worth billions of dollars to the pest management industry each year. They are excellent pollinators and perform an excellent job of distributing seeds. Additionally, you’re supporting species that are both beautiful and the environment. The purpose of supporting these animals is to help them construct homes for themselves.

Leave It to the Birds

Bats can frighten you, so if you’re terrified of bats, go with birds. The use of birds for pest management is as practical as that of bats. Cute is a definite bonus. Your backyard gets a boost in beauty when you have a garden. Use low-maintenance twiggy plants and bushes to attract birds. Other styles of birdhouses are also possible. Birdbaths and fountains should be installed, as well as bird feeders. You may have cheery guests who like to eat insects but who also love worms.

Trap the Bugs

At this point, you should consider calling in theprofessionals to control ticks, mosquitoes, and other bugs. Another option is to make traps for them. Instead of spraying pesticides, build a bug trap that will help preserve the environment while reducing the risk of health issues for both you and the ecosystem. You don’t have to buy anything extra. You reuse a plastic bottle and add the solution of your choice to attract the bugs you want to get rid of.Mosquitoes even become attracted to water, which you can use to entice them.

The red-wine vinegar attracts fruit flies if you have issues with them. To safely cut off the top twoinches of the bottle, you have first to trim off the top twoinches of the bottle. Instead of making the top sit in the bottle, you flip the bottle and tape the neck to the opening. When you have done that, you should put the correct solution in there.

If you are confronted with stink bugs, lure them using a glass container and a light. You’ll also have to cut off the top two inches of the bottle to accomplish this. To keep the bottle at the same height as the neck, you’ll also have to flip it and tape the neck to the opening. Next, you utilize a battery-powered flashlight that’s the size of a flashbulb.

The yard may be a lovely living space where we can spend quality time with our family and make cherished memories, but it is not always that way. The unfortunate reality is that we are not the only ones who find them to be amusing. The yard is also a haven for a diverse range of bug species, both helpful and sometimes harmful. Keep in mind the techniques for keeping their population under control so that you can keep your yard looking beautiful while also keeping you and your family safe from harm.

Get Rid of Damp Fast with These Tips

One of the worst things to happen to your home is for it to develop damp. Damp really takes a damper on your home, it can make rooms cold and strips your home of all its cosiness. Not only is damp bad for your aesthetic, but it is bad for your health too. To put it simply, it needs to be eliminated as soon as possible. If you want to know how you can get rid of damp fast, keep on scrolling.

How to identify damp

First and foremost, you need to diagnose your home with damp, here is how to do that.

Smell

  • The smell is a dead giveaway of damp, so if you notice a musty odour in your home it’s time to check the walls and ceilings.

Temperature

  • A cold surface can be a telltale sign that you have damp

Fungal growth

  • Look for black specks and grey growth on your walls, wallpaper, and woodwork. If the paint is flaking or the wallpaper is curling up, that is a sign you have damp

Colour change

  • Is the surface discoloured or stained? Brown patches, in particular, indicate damp

Condensation

  • If you find small splashes of water on your window sills, this can be a symptom of damp.

Mould

  • Black mould can appear on your window frames and curtains, as well as inside cupboards and cabinets. Remember a musty smell signifies mould and damp.

How to treat damp

You’ve confirmed there is damp in your home, now what? Well, the first thing to do is to call a professional company to tackle the issue. If you’d like to resolve this problem yourself you need to adhere to the following:

  • Use a squeegee to scrape the damp away
  • Apply a sealer to prevent further moisture from leaking through
  • Get a mould killer and follow the instructions required
  • Open the windows to ventilate the house

Preventing damp

Here are simple steps you can take to dampproof your home and prevent future outbreaks:

  • check roof regularly for damage
  • Clean your gutters frequently
  • Get loft and wall insulation
  • Set your thermostat to a lower temperature
  • Open windows to allow ventilation
  • Don’t dry washing inside (use a tumble dryer or hang clothes on a line outside)
  • Buy a dehumidifier
  • Turn on the extractor when cooking
  • Invest in some dampproof products (see everbuild

Health complications of untreated damp

It is important to get rid of damp as soon as possible, if left untreated unpleasant illnesses can manifest as a result. Research has shown that those living in damp homes are twice as likely to develop asthma, and are at significant risk of other respiratory ailments such as bronchitis and chest pains. Damp can affect the skin and cause nasty skin conditions like eczema to break out. Scottish researchers also demonstrated that damp is strongly associated with fever. This gives you all the more reason to get scraping those walls and ceilings pronto.

To summarize

Damp can be stubborn but is easy to get rid of if you adhere to the advice above. If all else fails, don’t hesitate to call in the professionals.

Planning A Home Renovation? You Need These Tips!

Whenever it’s time to renovate the home, you have to put a project together and bring in the experts to help you to make your project come to life. You might bring in an architect to help you with an extension, or you might bring in a decorator to help you with the planning of the colors of the space you’re changing. You should think about bringing in a contractor, too, to work with you on the construction of the place if it’s needed.

A remodel isn’t a simple job, even the smallest job can be complex if you’re thinking about remodeling the house. You can bring in a construction team, however, who can look at ensuring that they have the right equipment – down to the forklift propane regulator – that will get your job done in half the time. You want to know your renovation is going to be done in the right time frame, and for that, you need to think about ensuring that your renovation is planned to perfection. Below, we’ve put together all of the tips that you need to make sure that your project gets finished on time.

  1. Budget, and then budget again. The costs of renovations can change even during the project. You want to ensure that your budget is correct and that means planning for all possible eventualities. You should ensure that you have a budget laid out to include every single piece of material and the cost of hiring experts to help. You should also consider adding at least half of your total budget on top!
  2. Make a point of ensuring you’re not overdoing it. You are making changes, and this can often make you choose everything over the top for your home. You should plan your renovation so that you can know for sure that you are doing what’s needed, rather than everything on top of that!
  3. Get as many quotes as possible. You need to do a little research here, and that means getting as many quotes as possible, from materials to equipment to teams of construction experts to help you out. You need to avoid any unnecessary costs, and that means having a clean, clear plan to help you out with those.
  4. Always figure the finances before starting everything. If you have quotes, you can get moving with the next steps. Just because you have a quote for a job, it doesn’t mean that you need to go with that particular company. Choose to figure your finances first so that you can be sure you’re definitely sticking to that budget of yours.
  5. Be patient. This is going to take some time and putting your home renovation project on hold will ensure that you have more than enough money to save for this endeavor. Any renovation done under budget may have corners cut, so do what you can to ensure that you are careful with your budget and your renovation, too.

Your renovation will go to plan with the right project management. Find the right team today and you can get started.

Garden Goals: Making The Most Of Your Outdoor Space

There’s nothing better than soaking up the sunshine in the garden when the skies are blue and it’s warm outside. If your garden is crying out for some TLC, or you need inspiration to create an al fresco oasis, here are some tips to help you make the most of your outdoor space.

Maximizing the space you have available

When designing your garden or embarking upon a mini makeover, it’s always beneficial to try and maximize the space you have available and use every inch. From awkwardly shaped areas to corners, there are innovative solutions to help you utilize every part of your garden. One of the most common issues homeowners encounter is overgrown trees and branches that are blocking light or making it impossible to use sections of the garden for entertaining, playing with children, grandchildren or pets or growing plants or produce. If this problem sounds familiar, it’s a great idea to consider hiring a company like Sydney Tree Company to remove or prune trees to make your garden more functional and create the illusion of a larger, lighter space. You can also use corners to create cool chill-out zones or seating areas or design planters or features such as shelves and corner ladders to house containers, buckets or pots.

Creating a versatile space

Depending on where you live, you may have to contend with different types of weather conditions during the year. From blazing heat to showers, dark nights and clear, sunny days, you can cater to all climates in your garden to make your yard a perfect place to hang out come rain or shine. Use structures and features such as gazebos, awnings and sails to provide shelter and shade, add outdoor lighting to enable you to enjoy the garden after sunset and create a cozy vibe with blankets and throws to keep warm after dark in the summer and during the winter. You can also explore additions such as fire pits, patio heaters and chimineas.

Designing distinctive garden zones

Our gardens have multiple roles, and many of us like to undertake several different types of activities in the same space. From sunbathing and hanging out with friends to gardening and growing, playing sports with the kids and chilling out with a good book, you can enjoy a host of different hobbies in your garden. If you’d like your backyard to be more versatile and functional, it’s an excellent idea to design distinctive zones. You can do this by using different materials and physical structures and barriers, such as gates, walls and fences, and adding colored or themed accessories and lighting to change the ambiance.

Are you keen to make the most of your outdoor space? Is your garden a little bland or tired, or can you only enjoy it in the summer? Take these tips on board to create a more versatile, accessible space you can use all year-round. From making use of every inch to creating different zones to cater to hobbies and interests and facilitate relaxation, it’s possible to transform your outdoor area into a stunning oasis.

Exterior Design: The Best Parts Of Rural Living

pixabay

You’ve heard about the farmhouse interior design style and the reason for that is, it’s just brilliant! The large homely pieces, the love of natural materials and the respect of nature are something we could all do much more with. However, we don’t often regard the exterior of a rural home in high regard. Why is that? It’s confusing because the exterior is all about celebrating strength, simplicity and space. There are some key features of a rural home that has made its way into the city; the conservatory. This was only ever seen in rural homes but now we see them in urban environments. Let’s explore the best bits of the rural exterior style.

Country garages

Garages in suburban and urban homes are sometimes a little smaller than we would like. We park our cars inside and we just about squeeze past it to get indoors. However, in rural homes the garage is huge! It should be able to fit most kinds of farming equipment, bar the largest. This is why pole barns are so popular. They are made custom to your liking, as they are designed using hardwood which can be shaped, sized and finished quicker and easier. The roof is made out of metal however, as it must protect your property inside. You can paint the barn however you want. You can do a two-tone paint scheme, one single color, or perhaps paint the support one color, the walls another and the doors another. You can be as creative as you like.

Conservatory design

Believe it or not, the conservatory doesn’t have to be attached to the home itself. Many country homes have a conservatory that is detached from the main property, and it is often made as a pool house. Conservatories should be a relaxation space that is directly linked to the garden. Remember that conservatories were designed to be enjoyed among nature while not being outdoors to brave the wind, rain and glaring sunshine. The rural design is that of a hexagon with 360-degree vision. The entire roof should be made out of windows, so you can enjoy the night sky sitting by the fireplace.

Guest log cabin

Log cabins are the most iconic image of a rural property. Although there are now modern homes in the heart of the country, you can always do with a small one or two-bedroom log cabin in your garden. This could be for guests who come over to stay with you for a weekend fishing trip or a camping journey through the forest. Log cabins should stand above the ground as they often stood on stilts to avoid floods. There should also be a decking from which you can hang a bench or hammock, as cabin porches are often one of the best relaxation spots in rural parts of the country.

Which rural exterior structure do you like the most? Log cabins are great but reading a good book by the fireplace while occasionally peeking at the full moon in a conservatory is perhaps even better.

4 Ways To Zoom Up Your Home Life

The covid-19 pandemic has completely transformed our interactions with the external world. As many companies have been forced to adjust rapidly to the situation, remote positions have flourished in every industry. As a result, collaborative platforms have grown in popularity. Tech tools such as Trello and Slack have been real game-changers. But the digital solution that’s benefitted the most from the pandemic is Zoom. Video call technology is not a novelty. Yet, the pandemic has revived the trend and brought Zoom into our lifestyles. While businesses make good use of the video call feature, this isn’t the only use of the solution. Indeed, you can make Zoom an integral addition to your household. Here are some of the new services people have been enjoying since the boom of Zoom.

Zoom fitness training

Fitness enthusiasts already know some of the golden rules of the fitness community. Wearing appropriate clothing for your workouts can avoid many issues. Fitness outfits are designed to provide support and enable mobility. Wearing clothes that not fitness-friendly could put you at risk of injuries, as you may be tempted to avoid some movement as a result of tight and uncomfortable clothes. Additionally, investing in supportive accessories such as weightlifting gloves or wrist wrap can improve your performance and also reduce the risk of injuries. Finally, if you find yourself plateauing, you can unlock your full potential with a zoom personal trainer who can offer one-to-one guidance and planning.

Zoom language tutor

You can also utilize Zoom to transform your resume. It’s nowadays easy to find Zoom Spanish lessons or Zoom data analytics courses to learn to skills you need for your career. The tech enables you to build a one-to-one relationship with your tutor. Unlike physical classes, the online technology lets students create a mentor-like relationship with their tutor. As a result, students of any age can learn faster and more in-depth through Zoom calls. It is especially useful for language tutorials, as tutors can correct pronunciation and mistakes directly, which isn’t an option in physical classrooms or on a dedicated app.

Zoom dance group

If you’ve been self-isolated at home or changing your social habits to reduce COVID-19 risks, you are probably experiencing some level of loneliness. Zoom doesn’t quite replace friends or social connections. But, you can find that group activities are still accessible via Zoom. Social dance clubs and groups have been organizing classes on Zoom and pairing partners digitally since the start of the pandemic. Participants have found Zoom to offer an interesting alternative, helping them to maintain social connections safely.

Zoom escape rooms

While the entertainment industry has had to shut temporarily during the pandemic, Zoom has given escape rooms a survival plan. Digital games are still accessible to players, even after some escape room businesses have reopened for business. A zoom-based game allows players to explore the room via the game operator. Equipped with a go pro camera and a microphone, the game operator acts as an avatar in the room, following your instructions to solve puzzles. For players who are remaining cautious, it’s a fantastic alternative.

Can Zoom be the answer to all our problems? Probably not, but it can provide plenty of support to support your health, boost your career, make friends, and have fun. There is more to Zoom than the business functions. It could become a part of your everyday life.
