As we come to the end of 2022, a new year is fast approaching. Sure, December may be the time that we focus on festive sales, followed by a period of rest and relaxation, where you and your team can celebrate your achievements over the course of the past twelve months. All this being said, you should take some time to consider where you want to see your business this time next year. For most of us, the answer will require expansion. Sure, staying afloat, making sales and ticking over is good. But you should always thrive to improve, generate more sales, generate more profit and build a bigger team around you. Here are some top ways to achieve this going forward!

Brand Awareness

The more people are aware of your brand, the more they are going to shop with you. You need to make sure that you are investing in marketing and advertising to achieve this. You can have the best product in the world, but only advertising and marketing can make sure that people are aware of it and, consequently, buy it. There are all sorts of campaigns that can improve brand awareness, ranging from SEO to PPC, social media marketing, email marketing, billboards, TV, radio and more. So, take some time to figure out what works best for your brand and most appeals to your target demographic.

Reputation

Reviews and positive word of mouth enhance popularity and sales. So, you need to put some work into improving your business’ reputation. Offer incentives for customers to provide reviews once they receive their product. This could be a discount code or free shipping off their next purchase. You should also make sure that you are operating your business in the best way possible. Take time to highlight this. You should be a good employer, source your raw materials ethically. Actively become more sustainable. You should also have a good customer service team to deal with customer inquiries, complaints and more.

Hiring

More sales means more work, which means you’re going to have to take on more staff to meet your business’ growing needs. Look into what areas you need to grow in and start recruiting for roles that will allow for this improvement. Many businesses outsource recruitment to agencies, as they don’t have the time to sift through hundreds of CVs and resumes that will inevitably pour in from countless candidates. You will need to provide your chosen agency with a list of qualifications, experience and characteristics you require from your ideal candidate. Of course, you also need spaces for these team members to wrok from, so look into affordable commercial premises such as prefab buildings.

Product Development

Your main product may well bring in consistent profit. However, you should look into expanding the lines of products available. This will draw in existing customers and can also attract people who may not be interested in your current line.

There are so many areas you can focus on when it comes to expanding your business over the coming 12 months, but hopefully, the suggestions above can provide you with a good starting point!
